Blockade Runner

Post by Pinback »

Some sort of Minecraft game based in space , looks like it has some interesting ideas. Here’s the blur from the site.
Quote:
Inspired by Infiniminer and Minecraft’s voxel engine, Blockade Runner is the beginning of a Multiplayer First Person Adventure Space Sim that will feature fully destructible, operational, crewable 'living' starships in a procedurally generated galaxy. If the fuel tanks are punctured, liquid fuel will flood the halls. If the wall gets hit by a torpedo, oxygen will get vacuumed into space. Ship lasered in half? Pray that you're on the better half. Every part of your starship will matter. If they stick to the once a year release schedule and give pre-order discount it doesn't seem that bad to pay $10. And the free version is 4-6wks behind the paid version so eventually you will be able to play the newer versions it seems. But I do like some of the ideas they are planning.

hey no fair, i had this idea way before......!i was working on this for a game called Shores of Hazeron. it was eventually dropped because it was far too complex to code, and would have been a large strain on server recources... :( ...wait a second... im getting to see a game concept i wanted to see for a long time, and i dont have to be the one to code it? heeeellll yeeeaaahlooks interesting though, im going to check it out when i get the chance
