Hello
Hello, after being a long time reader of SSC, I have decided to become a member of the community. Space Sims are (together with RPGs) my favorite games since playing Super Wing Commander and Escape Velocity back in the middle of the 1990's.My most favourite space sim is Freelancer and I keep playing it. With new mods it rocks. It provides the right combination of easy interface and controls, basic interaction on planets and space stations, basic trading system, easy fighting system and it manages to hit the sweet spot. There are many other space sims that excel in some aspect or another (X series has hard core trading, Space Force - Rogue Universe has more hardcore combat etc. etc.) but they just miss the spot. Freelancer's features might be mediocre but they make for a great game. What are your favorite space sims?F.
RE: Hello
Hey FreelancerWelcome to the SSC and glad you decided to introduce yourself as its always nice to see new members
As for favourite space sim, I will have to disagree with the esteemed Oolite Naval Attaché, (Oolite is still a damn fine game though and you should definitely try it if you haven't already done so), but my favourite is Frontier Elite II, a space sim (THE space sim) full of Newtonian goodness :DMmmmm, I might need to hide for a bit the next time I am on the Oolite boards

RE: Hello
Hello Freelancer and welcome to SSC.Difficult to say what my favorite game is although among my all time favorites would be Elite and Frontiers (sill waiting for someone to do better).More modern games would be Precursors and Dangerous.
