Joystick recommendations (PC)?

Hi all, Thinking about re-firing up IL2-Sturmovik 1946 as well as FreeSpace 2 to play some mod campaigns but the only joystick I haveis a six year old Saitek "Aviator" series (it was barely serviceable for any game) so I'd like to upgrade without spending too much.Can I get some SSC approved joysticks? I know the Saitek X52 appears to be the consensus choice but are Logitech and Thrustmasters any good?Thanks. :thankyou:

I use a Logitech Extreme 3D - it's a decent budget 'stick (oodles of buttons, but a rather large footprint).

I got informed today that santa is giving me a Speedlink Black Widow Flightstick for Christmas. Looks great and cant wait to try it out.
