Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain

I haven't played any of the Earth Defense Force games yet but this one looks pretty good, it was released today on steam. The only thing I frowned on was all the DLC I saw for purchase that was all ready on day 1 of release. Why couldn't they have just put most of that in the game....?
