Star Citizen is not just an Multiplayer game, it will also contain a single-player game (Squadron 42) which will put you into the persistant server for multiplayer when it is completed. Star Citizen is a game being worked on by Roberts Space Industries. This EPIC game will be released in 2014.

These videos were informative on how the game has progressed through 2019 and what to expect in 2020. I will admit it is getting better and hope the server meshing and server persistence is solid and working well in 2020, at that point I would consider the game a playable state.   will need to advance into the videos before they start.
