£5.00 on Ebay Wars Red Sun.You play the part of Valdemar,a miner who is having strange dreams in which you arecontracted by a mysterious general.Who want's you to investigate the Red Sun starshipand a new alien menace which has appeared.Red Sun is an arcade space shooter for the PS1 with a basic simulation of Newtonian physics.Unlike the two previous game,there is no branching storyline.Although there is a story tofollow in the game.The game play over five station each of which have there own set of missionto under take.Which can be played in any order.In this game when you logon you are givenfour choices mission,upgrade part,upgrade ship and menory card.Mission selection pannel.When you selecte a mission you be given the details and some background info along with anyobjectives which have to achieved to complete the mission,and how much the reward is.Afterthat you can launch/decline or reread the brief.You will also find any storie relatedmission here,these storie mission must be played in order to move to the next station.You can alsoenter the Thunderbowl competition on some of the station,this a four way fight off,but ifyou are killed it will end the game.In the main mission unlike the previous games if yourship is destoyed,there is no escape capsule and the game will end.If you fail one of theobjectives,then you are given the choice of retrying the mission or returning to the station.Failed mission will then reappear in the mission list at some point.The mission themselves are still the old kill/protect every thing,but there is a greater varietyas well more planet based ones to fly,in which you will encounter alien animals,which aresome times part of the objectives. id="2Xzd-FSUVpQ"> partsEach ship has a number hard points which can have a selection of 40 types ofweapons and add on mounted on them.Each one has its own description and cost,as the gameprogresses new weapons will appear.The weapons can also be changed and sold here.Upgrade ship.As the name suggest you can change your ship,there are nine to fly in the game.GraphicThis is the best graphic of all three Colony Wars games,the ship are sharp and well detailed,and the surrounding space of planet/sun ect looks excellent.Along with some brilliant explosions,Considering the game was released in 2000,it still looks very good today.Combat.As with the previous game you still have the problem of not being able to tell if the enemyship are above or below your ship,as there is still no stalks on the radar.The primary/secondary weapons selection has gained a click noise now,which stop the endless cycling throughthe weapons to find the right one.The big new feature here is a rechargeable shield,whichmake one hell of a difference to the combat,also the captial ship and station now haveturrets ect which can be destroyed.The Newtonian flight model has been modifyed and madeworse.Sound effect/musicthe sound effect and music for the game are good,but nothing outstanding about it,there is a lotless voice audio in the game as none of the mission have a voice over,Althrough you stillget comments from your co pilots ect,telling you about your objectives.All in all this is the best of the three Colony Wars games it has the best missions and thebest graphic.There are a couple of minor points with the combat ,but you will soon forgetabout them once you start playing the game.There's some great explosion in the gameas the enemy ships blow apart.And the adding of the alien animal to the ground mission is aninspired idea and should be copyed by others.The game really reminds me of level basedFreelancer,and if you still have the hardware or an emulator its definitely worth getting a copyof the game.Making of part 1 of part 2 Sun missions vidshttp://www.blastfox.info/?page_id=19[/url]
