Kestral Introduction

I have been a space sim nut all my 42 years, since I played the first Wing Commander and the Star Wars vector game (and Starblade!) in the arcades.I have recently picked up the Wing Commander movie on DVD, which has rekindled my interest in the Wing Commander games. I am not ashamed to admit that I really enjoyed the movie, but I understand that many folks think it was the worst sci-fi movie ever. I have all of the WC/Privateer/Lancer games except for WC IV, which I will pick up on eBay. Right now I am in the middle of replaying WC1.I think this site is a great resource and I hope to stick around.I am a programmer who has started a couple of space sim projects on the side, none of which ever saw production. I hope to get back on a sim project some day when things are not so crazy busy between family and work.

Welcome KestralAnd your not the only person that like the Wing Commander movie :) Yeah I am bias because I loved the games and could related to all the in-game references. I just wish they could have gotten the cast used in the video games to play in the real movie. And do keep and eye out for Wing Commander Saga the free game that is coming.Great community of space gamers here so I think you will enjoy the stay, hope to see some of your projects re-emerge and see them in the forums :)
