British teen banned from America

Post by Solace »

And so it begins... A British teenager was banned from ever stepping foot on American soil for the rest of his life, simply because he e-mailed President Obama while he was drunk and called Obama an obscenity. The FBI then contacted local police in the teen's hometown in the United Kingdom and they alerted the teen of him never going to be allowed in America. Is this the US government overstepping it's bounds? Not only is the individual in question outside of America's jurisdiction (since the kid is a foreigner), but it's also a violation of his human rights that all human beings (even those who aren't American) are supposed to be entitled to (according to the United Nations). I believe ScoutedSoldier on Bungie.net said it best:

If I were him, I'd send another email saying "u mad?"

A British teenager has been banned for life from going to the United States of America. He was banned from sending an explicit emailto the White House calling President Obama an obscenity.According to reports Luke Angel, 17, was contacted by the local cops at request by the FBI to tell him he is not welcome in North America. Angel was left dumbfounded.Angel apparently sent a single email to the White House email, cruising the U.S. governmentwebsite after seeing a TV program about the 9/11 attacks. Angel claims he was drunk when he wrote the email. So what did Angel apparently say? MyFoxDC reported that Angel said that he called Obama a "prick." Angel called it silly and blamed his drunkenness for the email. The local police showed up to the Angel's residence and took a photo of him and told him he was banned from America. Angel's parents are apparently not too happy with their son. No criminal action will be implemented.Read more: http://www.postchronicle.com/news/original/article_212322882.shtml

Thing about it, Obama never saw that email I can almost say that in 100% certainty. I could possibly see this action if the president was threatened in the email. If he was not then they are being childish. And to set the record straight he isn't a prick... he is clueless. ;)

I'm sure he found out about it though, seeing as how over 75 news sources around the world reported it.

I must say, I found this hilarious. Why in the heck would you email the president to bad mouth him?Not really a big deal as the kid (who probably knew nothing about america )probably never intended to set foot on american soil in the first place.

Plus if that teenager lived Iran and sent that to the most wonderful dictator, the teen and his parents would probably get paid a visit from some armed guards :o

Is this an overreaction? Certainly. If everyone who thinks Obama is a prick was suddenly declared persona non grata, then America would lose about half its population. The fact is though that while the teen in question isn't under American jurisdiction, we have the right deny admittance to anyone, just like any other country.
