To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

How does fleet travel work, do you pick a target world, or do you have to direct them to connecting systems along the way? Also what types of space units are used?

i think brodies plans were to make it work however the game isnt at that stage yet and the programmer seems to have vanished into cyberspace so it looks like this game and combat may be in vapourware status it had a good look about it to shame he didnt have the follow up to see it through or whatever

yes, the basic idea at the start is to make it work; the little triangles nodes go from world to word simply as a visual way of indicating that the program knows the location of worlds and where they are in relation to each other. I am toying with the idea of grouping the worlds into "systems" of 1-10 worlds, movement in these systems will be conventional (like the current movement of the triangles), but a "jump" will be needed with a rare fuel resource to move to another "system"

The program is becoming more and more difficult to program, but hopefully not vaporware.
