To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hello ship commanders,
Last night version 0.8c went live for both Windows Phone 8 and Android versions of Darkdawn Encounters. This version adds the second test scenario: "Depot Raid". This is a timed mission, and adds specific objectives, and bonus objectives to the game for the first time. Also, you get to square off against two types of enemy defense platforms for the first time!
You may also notice that there have been some UI enhancements. In Depot Raid, there are new targeting brackets around the mission objectives; also, there are on-screen nav points to get you pointed in the right direction during more complicated missions. Finally, the shield/hull display will switch to a "comms" display when certain messages come through; this will be one way to deliver story content in the upcoming campaign.
You also get to see your first campaign crewmemeber, your XO (first officer); here's a bigger image:
The game's been getting some really great, really flattering reviews on Google Play lately, which is truly awesome to see! Makes me want to keep pushing harder to make the game as good as it can be. On that note: the next big update will feature the third and final test scenario. The goal with that one will be to create an even more complicated mission that really pushes the game; a kind of blueprint for the larger, more climactic campaign missions. Hopefully by the end of July! Stay tuned, and keep flying!
