To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

This game just been announced http://www.onlysp.com/solus-new-unreal-engine-4-sci-fi-survival-game-revealed-for-pc/

Teotl Studios, the developers behind adventure game The Ball, have revealed their new title coming to PC. Solus is a single player sci-fi exploration and survival game developed in Unreal Engine 4. Its setting is an uninhabited alien world where the player must survive in its harsh and varied environments of plummeting temperatures, rising tides, meteor strikes and high winds. Talking about the game’s development, Sjoerd De Jong of Teotl observes that the game has been developed using innovative scripts that will help generate its enormous and unpredictable environments.

What's caught my interest is that it looks a lot like an update of Robinson Requiem.

Solus looks very interesting and any game using U4 is going to look amazing.

Always thought it was a great idea for a game, Robinson Requiem never worked that well because of the hardware limitations.

Just hoping they don't turn into just another FPS cod style game.

Agree like to know more about the game play as in if their is any crafting of items as it could just turn out to be another FPS and avoiding the weather game.

Hmm 10 levels of play. Wonder how long it will take to complete the game then? That may not matter if the story and the mystery behind the planet is written well.

Yup just a few more days, I probably won't get this until all the episodes are done... just hate waiting for my game to continue 🙂

And it lands on Steams early access a couple of days ago. http://store.steampowered.com/app/313630/

Probably a good idea about waiting for the game to be more complete if they are doing it in episodes, just to see if they get them all done.

That's the way I do all those episodic games I wait until the last episode is done then buy the package. I have seen too many stall in the middle then your holding a incomplete game. But I do like the fact this is heavily story driven.

Out of early access on the 7th of this month, should be hitting GOG as well and theirs a XBore 1 version later in the month.

Must have finished adding all the content or will they still be doing that?.

I have to say its awesome to see a new post here from someone who has long moved on and yet had such a massive impact on the Unreal/UT community

The Solus Project sounds really, REALLY cool. Ill play it one day for sure - but given the amount of things going on itll have to wait a few years. So far I have never been able to start playing a game on the year of its release

Good luck with the release, Hourences, may it be fulfilling for you and your team
