To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Nice set of features Littorio as you plan to have hangar,will the larger ship be able to carry fighters and boarding pods for attacking other ships/stations. ❓
Yes, they will contain any type of ship that is small enough to stay in the hangar, and hangar will be of any size
How is StarShipSim coming Littorio?

I just discovered this game and it looks very intriguing. However, the download from spacesim central gives med crc error, file corrupted, when I try to unpack it. Is there somewhere else I can find this file? I really want to try it, it looks wonderful 🙂

Wow, just WOW!.. I just paused the game to write this... Imagine the stories that could be written around an engine like this! This has the aura of 'realistic' space combat, not some fancy shoot-em up stuff. This is what Starshatter and Battlecruiser should have done!! I love the nav display, the tactical display, the sheer amount of missiles...
Ok, you seriously need to finish this. With a little more, some scenarios and a story, you can find a publisher, fx one of the digital ones, like Matrix Games.
Notes:
The models are good, I especially like the Cobra.
The way you can modify hulls, design your own ships etc would prove extremely cool to modders.
You have done work on sensors it seem. All previous titles have lacked anything ressembling realistic sensors. With realistic sensors you can create a real tactical spacesim. Without sensors, its just another shoot em up.
Impressed: you have modelled entire star systems! Very nice.
Damage model, looks very sophisticated.
If you decide to move on with this project, I can help create scenarios and story. I'm not much of a programmer... 🙂

Try to follow these steps :
d3dx9_43.dll
It is because you will be missing written documents.
Step 1. You may acquire http://www.d3dx9.net/download-missing-d3dx9_43-dll/ listed here.
Step 2. Substance that submit for your system32 in addition to process directory. Additionally place it with your syswow
Step 3. Browse through in your System32(32Bit OS) or maybe SyWOW64(64Bit The gw990) Directory.
Note: The venue with System32 or perhaps SyWOW64 is
C:Windows\System32 (If you work with 32Bit Windows 7)
C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (if you are using 64Bit House windows)
Step 4.Paste your d3dx9_43.dll in to that directory.
Step 5.Manage the action. It would deliver the results at this moment.

I have released a new version.
Now every armor section have hitpoints,thickness and material type and can be damaged indipendently.
Also added the "armor view" where it is displayed the status of the ship's armor.

Today I implemented fuze delay for shells. They make the shell explode a set time after the impact.
They were really important in battleship combat in WW2 to make the shell explode in the soft core of the enemy ship and deliver maximum damage.

Interesting idea, would these shells be able to delivery a critical hit to a ship for example a hit in the main magazine which would destroy the ship.

Development Update
Now missiles can go through destroyed armor sections and hit directly internal components of the ships.
Also added support for 4 core (before was 3) but don't seem to improve performance 🙁 .
