To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

beyond protocol and star alliances are now open source

Did beyond protocol game servers and website go down? When I last checked they were still running and taking subscribers a few months ago. Think that disclosure will prevent a reliable host from ever taking up this project because your not allowed to make a profit. Unless you can show all money earned from the game is for operating costs of the server?
I have always wanted to try this game out because it looked fun and never got around to it. Hopefully someone will put a server together so people can try the game out.

hiii.
im cyrus, i want to revitilize this game, but i dont possess, the nessary skills to bring about the change the game needs. its written in visual basic, and i dont know visual basic, id love to get a BP server up, currently just a Star Alliances server is up ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/beyondp ... ic/4547333 ), courtesy of sir Paradox. BP one is taking a while. most of the forum admins are busy people in RL and dont have a bunch of time for the side projects.
anyway i wrote up a paper for a game that is similar to BP, but different enough to be an entirely new game. id prolly sugest just rewriting a game based off of it. none of that non profit license stuff to worry bout. i dont possess the nessary skills to actually do it though. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cKA ... y=CIya8dEB anyone interested in a colalb?
