To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I've known about this one for several years and was surprised to see that it still has a home on the Internet:

This game is for Windows and Linux. As well it is open source. I as well as others have found the game curious in that what you download is fully functional, yet you can buy the game as well; I suppose it falls under the scope of "charity-ware".
From the developer: "Scum of the Universe is a space trading game that combines two genres: arcade and strategy. On one side, it's a classic vertical-scrolling space shooter game. On the other side, it is an adventure and strategy. You should choose whether you'll be an independent space trader, firearms smuggler, fierce freedom-fighter or something in between. Following the main storyline, you go through the galaxy from one planet to another. Space travel requires fuel, so you need to keep earning money to buy it. You can also buy various upgrades for your spaceship and weapons that affect the arcade part of the game. The storyline itself is not linear. There are also some points where you'll need to make decisions that will determine your destiny."[attachment=82:Clipboard01.jpg]

I have known about this game a while just have never played it just because of the cost of it and that it is a dated game now and price should be lowered unless it is updated frequently.
