To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

When the Space 6000 game blog says "Space 6000 is an ambitious video game" I take notice and read..

The Game

"Everyone is thinking about Elite, and the sequel Elite 4 that will be released maybe one day. Let me tell you that Space 6000 is not an Elite clone. But of course it is inspired by the grand father of all Space Games."

About

The Space 6000 project website has been started by Nicolas Choukroun the 30th September 2009. The idea behind Space 6000 is to create a website about the history of the space odyssey as if it was written in the year 6000 using Unity 3D, it is not an Elite clone, even if there are a lot of similarities.

It uses the Unity 3D multiplatform game development tool.

Have to say I'm very impressed! 😯

I have known about this game for a while. I didn't add it to the list because I really couldn't any concrete info on the game when I was doing my usual digging for games a few months ago. And was unsure if it was really being developed on. I can add this to the link list just to provide coverage on it. The game does have a lot of promise since it will be open source when released. So I do hope development continues...?
