To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Promoting our Sci-fi Adventure Game

Hello there!

My family and I have created a cooperative sci-fi board game called Homestead Hyperjump!, which is now live on Kickstarter. We’re trying our best to get the word out and would love to share it with your community but want to make sure we’re following the house rules and being respectful. Is there an appropriate forum that we can share the project?

Here’s a link to the game if you’d like to check it out: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/shipandstar/homestead-hyperjump

In any case, appreciate you considering our request!

Best,
Mike

Thank you, DarkOne and for everyone willing to take a look! Our family has been working on this game for six years now (I like to call it our six-year mission) and I can't describe how cool it is to finally be at the point where we can share it with the world.

Without further ado, introducing: Homestead Hyperjump! - A Cooperative Scifi Adventure Game

Description
At the dawn of humanity’s interstellar age, a team of pioneers pilots an experimental starship into uncharted space. No maps. No guarantees. Only teamwork, tough choices, and cosmic mystery await beyond the Sol system!

HOMESTEAD HYPERJUMP! is a standalone, fully cooperative, sci-fi adventure game where players become the crew of a Homesteader-class ship exploring a branching galaxy. Guide your team, face alien threats, and shape your fate through meaningful narrative encounters, all in a living universe filled with challenge and possibility.

More Information
• Choose from six crew roles and 18 playable characters, each with distinct backstories and abilities
• Go from box to space in minutes, then embark on a deep, replayable campaign with over 30 scenarios and 60+ branching storylines.
• Work together to manage ship systems, make moral decisions, and overcome deadly threats.
• Dynamic exploration: Jump between sectors in a randomly generated galaxy filled with space stations, anomalies, and more.
• Encounter unique story events and moral dilemmas where every choice branches the narrative and impacts your future.
• Engage in tense space battles, deal with space madness, and even clone fallen crew members to carry on your mission!
• Guide your crew safely to a habitable world and establish a new home for humanity. Claim a world as your own – or die trying.

Why You’ll Love It
• Deep, emergent storytelling and cooperative strategy
• Dozens of unique scenarios and branching adventures for maximum replayability
• Gorgeous original artwork and tactile, eco-friendly components (no plastic minis!)
• 100% human-created: No AI art or writing
• Crafted with care by a family-run indie studio

Thanks again for taking a look! I welcome any questions the community may have.

- Mike
