To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I've seen some videos and been to the website, but I'm still in the dark.
I was hoping some kind forum-haunter would be able to give me a digest version of what the deal is with this? I'm crossing fingers and toes hoping it's not simply vaporware.
You have probably already read this but here is a nice Q&A I did a few months back that does answer a lot of questions (infinity-quest-for-earth-f18/with-crayfish-infinity-quest-for-earth-t589.html) and when you pair that together with the most recent Infinity video with the space/planet flight it fills in a lot of blanks.
I know personally on the Infinity site I find it hard to really find up to date news on the project and I just the news trickles out slowly. Because everyone already knows this project isn't going to be complete in 2010 or even 2011. My guess would be more like 2012, the i-Novae engine is amazing and I have seen it licensed by some developers recently on moddb. So the engine must be close to completeness? But building the content needed for a MMO of this scale has to be a daunting task. Yes you could just call it a playground with billions of stars/systems and let the players do everything and cause their own drama etc...
I know the staff of developers working on Infinity is generally small unless it has been updated recently but I thought there was only 1-3 people actually coding.
I as well am in the dark for the most part and haven't seen any real new new developments or screenshots that would spur me into asking for another Q&A. But soon as some more info starts to flow I will definitely be pinging the devs and asking for a Q&A. I think now its just a waiting game and hoping that the drive in motivation to finish Infinity is very high.

A 6 six year tec demo 😆
Always got the impression the there is only one guy behind the coding of the game.and is that spore like game which is using the infinity engine still on the go. ❓
It looks like it... its called Thrive: http://www.moddb.com/games/thrive
This is good news personally least for the engine that will power Infinity since if the engine is being used in other products then it must be fairly complete.
Thanks for the overview, Darkone and Pinback. The concept is very interesting, and I hope it sees the sweet fluorescent lighting of official release one day.
