To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I think it's awesome, imagining about how we could be sending a rocket to the far side of the moon as early as 2021, with manned missions to the moon and Mars in the next two or three decades.
This is a very fascinating time to be alive.
In 20 or 30 years I can say: I was there when the livestream collapsed under the sheer weight of viewers at 5 secs from launch 😀
I only get irritated in that we should have been doing this 20+ yrs ago, i wanted to step on a moon or a planet before I pass on and we are dragging our feet.
Not just step on the moon, but make the longest golf put on a planetary body? 😀
Imo, its kinda idiotic that space flight is getting so little budget and arms production is getting so much. If USA would properly invest into space flight, they would be mining asteroids by now to supply more resources to augment the US economy and to limit dependence on other countries. Besides having lunar bases etc. It would get rid of a whole fuckton of problems.
The annual defense budget is about as much as the NASA got during its entire lifetime. Consider the ludicrous implications of that.
