To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Looks like there is going to be a new Atari console coming out in July 2019 that you can now preorder via indiegogo: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/atari-vcs-game-stream-connect-like-never-before-computers-pc#/
How do you think this will do? Will it survive? Looks like the prices range from $199 to $339. I think thats a little steep for nostalgia, it will come with 100 atari classics and a Linux OS. I take it that you will be able to install or use the Linux OS as a standalone computer? If so it will have a purpose. But right now it looks to have apps where you can surf the web, stream video, netflix and stuff like that.
But Atari needs something unique to battle the big boys... Sony, MSoft and Nintendo. Because all of those consoles do the same exact thing and can play todays high end titles. So I will be interested in seeing more as it is revealed.
This is crazy, but I wish them success! 🙂
