To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I have yet to play this game but not looking good 🙂 Any one play this or like this game.
I was on the beta tryouts .... and yes it sucked in my opinion. I have played many different MMOG and when they said this will be more open and freedom in skills choose "sandbox". I though "oh good, that means no more endless hack and slash to get anywhere" ... how wrong was I.
As a formerly die-hard Elder Scrolls fan, nothing has mortified and disgusted me quite like the look of Elder Scrolls Online. Don't get me wrong, I actually do like WoW (although I haven't played it in forever, more accurately I'd say I do like Old Republic), but the idea of turning Elder Scrolls into a WoW clone is absolutely abhorrent. Bethesda has so completely failed to understand what people loved about their games, I can only imagine the experience of launching ESO is something like launching X Rebirth but with fewer bugs, and even less potential for recovery.
Suffice it to say, having originally worried about being able to resist purchasing ESO for a few months at least, after seeing a few gameplay videos (and expending great mental discipline to watch more than one) I will never play it.
While I'm at it, I usually have open contempt for the ridiculous story lines of video games, but Morrowind had me absolutely entranced (more due to the depth and richness of the backstory and the non-generic fantasy setting than from the main story line). Oblivion was a step down from this, but Skyrim was a flush down the toilet. Still a great game, but Elder Scrolls is owed better than the same old inane dragon silliness which gets plastered over every single RPG.
