To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hi all,
Thinking about re-firing up IL2-Sturmovik 1946 as well as FreeSpace 2 to play some mod campaigns but the only joystick I have
is a six year old Saitek "Aviator" series (it was barely serviceable for any game) so I'd like to upgrade without spending too much.
Can I get some SSC approved joysticks? I know the Saitek X52 appears to be the consensus choice but are Logitech and Thrustmasters any good?

I use a Logitech Extreme 3D - it's a decent budget 'stick (oodles of buttons, but a rather large footprint).

I got informed today that santa is giving me a Speedlink Black Widow Flightstick for Christmas. Looks great and cant wait to try it out.
