To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

So yesterday I was wondering around Game looking at their very small selection of PC games when I notice that they now have the Ouya on pre-oder.
Any-one thinking of getting one, no good for me as it's a download only console, see that their is a couple of space games in the games list including a version of vendetta.
Wow, that's a lot of emulators.
There's a lot of crud on there could be a good opportunity to get something decent running on it though and stand out a bit.
Guess a lot will depend on how well the console sells, they probably need a few of the big games being ported to it.
It has an ok amount of games but nothing I would spend the money for a Ouya on, but that is just me. The kids generally want something that can play the good games and if got them this they would look at me as if they were punished for something 🙂 hahaha
Here is what Vendetta looks like on the Ouya:
It's the same galaxy; you are playing alongside all the PC / Mac / Linux / tablet / smartphone users also. Autofire is enabled, which makes things a little easier (you only have to steer the ship through 3D space: if you have a good firing solution, the game will fire on its own. The devs added this feature after the above video was filmed).
The Ouya is "okay". All games are free to try, and yes you will find a lot of shovelware, but you will also uncover some rare gems. Searching through the Discover store can almost be a game unto itself. So far I've spent $5 on games (not including Vendetta) and $15 on a USB memory stick expansion.
I recommend checking out Rose & Time, The Cave, A Ride Into the Mountains, and Fotonica.
