To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Different console buttons

Hi all,

Here are some different console buttons I made for my copy of Pioneer. I don't know if any one is bothered but they are here if you want them. They use simple block colours to indicate ship status at a glance. They look pretty too!

On the left 'IP' stands for impulse power (cos im a geek, OK). The views are simply F=front, B=back, etc. I'm sure you can figure the rest out. C=cargo computer (that was the best title I came up with). The little planet indicates communication status, connected and not connected accordingly.

On the right, big red block just means no autopilot engaged. Landing gear status is either red block (down) or green block (up). The thrust configuration is red, orange and yellow (doesn't change). 'CS' stands for clear screen cos that what that button appears to do! Blue 'S' stands for scanners. Red and greenn block on and off.

There are different buttons when docked too. They all change according to whether the function is on or off in some cases. Just for fun.

Regards,

Mike.

PS, I was in the process of changing my commodity icons too (and haven't finished yet), if you don't want replacements please make a copy of your original commodities folder (which is in the icons folder) and just replace the new commodities icon folder with the original.

Best wishes,

Mike.

I have installed on my system to test.

It's good to have options for those who want to change the icons. It would be better than compres in .ZIP

Thus just copy the zip to the folder called /mods and Pioneer will do the rest.

No need to save the original icons. When you withdraw the zip of the folder /mods alone are restored.

PS. The mods folder is in My Documents

The important thing is to have fun doing it.

This way there you will become a wild animal if they criticize. <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//hunter.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hunter:' /> <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//sarcastic_hand.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sarcastichand:' />

I agree with walterar. Make it a mod and post it in the downloads area at the top of the page. In case you (or anyone else reading this) are unclear on the subject, a mod file must be in .zip format. It will replace contents of a folder in the game that is beneath the data folder. You must include any subfolders that may be under your main folder with the proper file structure. You must not include the data folder, because that's already assumed to exist. So in your case you just make an icons folder with your icons inside. When you put your .zip file into the mods folder Pioneer will use your content, and if you remove the .zip, Pioneer will revert back to normal. I'm getting to really like this because the mods folder is always the same. So when, for example, I installed alpha 25, walterar's engine mod was automatically installed. There's no longer a need to totally customize my Pioneer installation each month!
