To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hi,
Compiled Pioneer on my Arch Linux laptop went okay, and running is fine too. However, after I exit the game, my mouse buttons frequently stop working somehow. I can move the arrow but I can't click anywhere. The arrow also doens't change shape when it passed over widgets that should make it change shape (like text boxes etc.). There isn't any response to the mouse wheel either. The keyboard is fine, so I can restart my login manager to regain mouse functionality, but that is annoying.
I'm using a Sony Vaio laptop with a NVIDIA GeForce GO 6200 graphics card.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to find out what is causing this?
Thanks for any help,
Diederick
Hello. I know this thread is ancient, but I had exactly same problem and solved it by disabling DGA mouse support.
Try
export SDL_VIDEO_FULLSCREEN_HEAD=1
export SDL_VIDEO_X11_DGAMOUSE=0
before running the game.
I only did the DGAMOUSE thing, not the FULLSCREEN_HEAD thing, but this appears to work for me too. Thanks!
Normally a right-click outside the game will return the mouse to its normal behaviour, but even so it's an annoying problem.

This deserves named best "mod" of the year. :good:
Thank you Timothy Leary!
Exporting SDL_VIDEO_X11_DGAMOUSE was enough for me too.
Thanks RobSis, and Tichy for adding it to the issue tracker. I've implemented a workaround in issue #1892. If you use Linux and can compile Pioneer yourself, I'd appreciate it if you could test this.
@robn: I just compiled it with the patches and it works fine. :prankster:

Great news!
First time I've observed this error in GLFrontier - I loved that port, but the error made it unplayable: only every second right-click worked...
Now I can get to it again 🙂
