To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Colour this thread resurrected. Unfortunately, Ginger Baker cannot be resurrected - RIP, Ginger:
While I'm at it, Robert Hunter died a couple of weeks ago. I've always had a soft spot for this:
Yeah,..I heard about Ginger. These days I feel everything I know and love is slowly going away. I hate getting old. 🙁
I hate getting old. 🙁
You and me both! I keep seeing 50th anniversary editions of albums I bought on release.
Here you go, amiga - have a freshly-baked ogg!
Liked that Cody! 😀
Ok, ok, maybe I am dwelling too much on the past but what to do?
Hmmmmmm
Oh I know! I will play something from the present number 1 from the UK's album chart. Yes, something new and modern. That will do it surely? 🙂
<chuckles> Case in point - I queued at my local record shop to buy Abbey Road the day it was released.
Here's a gem of a single from Chicken Shack, also released in '69
Beth Hart does a terrific rendition of that old classic!
Nurse, nurse - where's my medication?
No! Step away from the medicine Jar!
No! Step away from the medicine Jar!
I can't, I'm a medicine head!
Deep space, falling slowly in-system, drives on minimum, scanner clear, local time 00:55 - all is quiet. One a.m. approach!
Christmas is a time to head home! Yes, I think so!
A pretty good entrance to this venerable thread - welcome aboard!
Currently playing chez Cody...
When visiting Mars...
On the other hand, when visiting Titan...
A tribute for Brian Jones, of sorts, by the Kinks!
Talking of Rolling Stones, in the parish of Rollright (in Oxfordshire) stand the Rollright Stones...
Traffic, with Steve Winwood?
Ah yes, I remember him. I also remember him in Blind Faith. Shame him, Ginger, Eric and Ric Grech only made one album. 🙁
Before Blind Faith, before Traffic, he was in the Spencer Davis Group.
A very talented musician, and Traffic were a great band.
Chicago Transit Authority did a good cover of that.
I don't think Steve was ever in a bad band! 😀
Next, someone I've been listening to alot lately, Mike de Velta. Here is an original song by him. Just let it take you on a journey...
I like that!
This was "borrowed" and became a classic rock number. I'd wager you'll know which one within seconds.
The IABD album is a cracker, especially if you like a bit of violin with your rock.
Talking of rock violin...
I saw Curved Air back in '70 - 'twas an awesome gig!
I did indeed. So this is where DP got it from? Hope they recognised them.
Kinda reminds me of this...
Kinda reminds me of this...
<chuckles> That court case is still rumbling on, I believe.
Now, something for you to listen to while going after those naughty Thargies in Oolite!
