To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I know we have Bob Dylan fans here. This was written about him by someone who knew him intimately...
We both know what memories can bring, they bring diamonds and rust!
Â
Yeah, I've got the blues again!
Ha! Way back when, I was selling top-end hi-fi systems for a living, and the Doobie's Toulouse Street was among our demo albums. As was Isaac Hayes' soundtrack from the movie Shaft - pretty good movie, great soundtrack!
We had a near-acoustically perfect demo room, and we had the quadrophonic mix of Dark Side of the Moon on reel-to-reel. After hours, we'd often settle in for a private session. DSOTM was mind blowing in quad!

Now where was I? Oh yes, cooking dinner!

It's that day again...

What a post Cody, what a selection, flawless.
Just a wee short one, a stand out track from a game I played recently..
Now,....,since Cody posted the Shaft theme earlier, something funky
Hazel O'Connor, what ever happened to her I wonder?
Still playing and singing - check out her Lockdown/Isolation vids.
I heard all sorts in that track Cody; a bit of Jefferson here, a bit of Syd Barrett there and certainly a touch of Doors amongst a whole host of others. Great! 😎Â
Now.....what I can only describe as a "bass workout" 🙃Â
Feeling a bit uppity today, so may as well pay tribute to another pioneer from days past. This is one of my favorites, and I hope you like it too. (I've always wanted to say that)
It was Ian Gillan's Birthday yesterday, so here is he is giving it what for!
And today, it's Robert Plant's birthday! So how about a classic track from his zeppy days.
Ian Gillan and Robert Plant, eh?
Â
I love that Chris Foss ship! Right up there with his Foundation cover art!
Â
<sheds a quiet tear>
Â
Ah, Chris Foss! Well Cody, now you have gone and done it! Walk with me now through the 2nd golden age of sci-fi in this series of videos. All the usual suspects are in attendance including, of course, Chris Foss, Peter Elson, Angus Mckie, Tim White and John Berkey, amongst others. Some of these images I have not seen in over 40 years! It's in 5 parts.
Awesome!
Anyone remember Edge of Darkness (the BBC TV series)? Top-notch sci-fi/political thriller!
I do remember that Cody, a great series and music. They don't make em like that no more!
It triggered memories in me so here is another 2 that stuck out for me from long, long ago.
What a delightful contraption!

Hey... play the guitars!
