To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

It's incredible how many different planets and environments I can find in this galaxy. This is the absolutely the BEST space exploration game I ever seen.
@Arrakh
Are you running on old hardware since your shots are without shaders enabled?
Your eclipse should darken the planet with shaders enabled using A33 dev+

mmmh not so old, maybe 3 years old machine. the eclipse was in a double-star sistem, the planet is enlightened by the other sun.
If you enable shaders (in settings) you get very nice atmosphereic effects.
They're without shaders?
Also Arrakkh will have to get a nightly build to have the eclipse stuff, at least until Friday.
Yes.. atleast it looks that way to me, it looks like the atmosphere is just the triangle fan backdrop, (pure opengl), there is no geosphere_terrain shading. Atmosphere usually blends horizon color on the terrain using shaders.

I'm not using nightly, it's alpha 32.
well, not sure shader is working in the right way, anyway It's activated in my pioneer options.
Ah ok, maybe I was just tricked by the thin atmosphere.
Anyway your shots looks great! 🙂
I found this: rondel, near sol, military listening point. I was there and I found nothing special, just empty planets. Sorry, maybe this is not the right place to post this.

Yes co-ordinates would be nice. :girlcrazy:

Sorry, I really don't remember, something around 60-315 maybe.
Travelling far from Sol there are so many interesting places!
Stunning shots guys! Wish I could include them all, but some of Stas's & Arrakkh's are on deck. :girlcrazy: Many thanks guys! :curtsey:
Roger's Folly, Vaen, 64 -1 -16 it 's almost a "earthlike" planet. Except for the thin athmosphere and the 4 suns orbiting in that sistem. 🙂
That's awesome, it looks like a properly alien planet 🙂
This is New Espinoza, in sistem Inlagre (64 -6 -15)
Hostile and barren environments sometimes are scenic!
Agricultural worlds.
the first 4 screens are from sistem Inwaen 63-18 -13
Haley colony is in sistem SC 3323+62-28, coords 62-28-14
First attempt at my hack to disable the GUI rendering for screenshots 🙂
