To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

will be back soon...

marcel, you know that i love verne, foremost the contrast of people who believe that technical achievements and social progress is bound to each other, compared to the dull, stiff and uninspired. i fear actually a lot people like to turn the wheel back (which won't work, there is no stopping, no turning back of this wheel), which worries me a lot. his message of true pioneering spirit is actual as back when he wrote his novels.

in times of a crisis people start to look for solutions, but you won't find them in things like creationism, secession (of any sort, not only bound to political secession). fortunately still a small movement in western civilisation, but draws it's circles wider each day. we all have to face the same problems, as unemployment, shrinking resources and unbalanced market. some believe in extremes and are not aware that they will serve the wrong idol in this way. i still hope that we can support a counteract to this with pioneer, without being didactic, because i feel it's important that the idea grows in each mind of it's own. like a seed you plant which will grow afterwards by itself to some (hopefully) positive fruits. i know that some know this fact to and that's why they keep off any seed to be planted in them with radical thinking. i was bound to such myself when i lost direction many years ago, so i know well how they operate to control the peoples minds. fortunately this didn't lasted to long and i recognized that it wont work for me. you only have power over people if you keep them uneducated, the "leaders" (call them gurus if you like) are educated well, else this system won't work. this is the most heinous one can do, using knowledge against people (and also clearly depicted in the bible, if one can read between the lines). unfortunately i feel and can see that we (i'm) also only get understood by people that are already openminded, so the worth of it is limited. perhaps it's true, it's better to reach one as to reach 1000, but i'm a impatient guy... and i feel it's not much time left? not that i think there will be a end of time, i feel only sad about how much blood it will cost if mankind didn't recognizes the signs of the time we live in. if we didn't get the curve now, then later, but really there will be a big chaos inbetween. has also been depicted well long ago. but instead to think about the meaning of such ancient stories, many take them literally and many people wait, or even more bad, work in direction of, "the end of time". some sit around and just wait for it, many other think, ok, then i take as much as i can for myself, but this leads in the wrong direction imo.

phew, the "preacher" has preached a lot now...(no wonder, i have taken a lot of time in investigations in that direction, to see why are many so blinded and so confused? what forces stand behind that and who will take profit of it. no don't call me "jedi master" ! lol, i don't like to be a guru of any sort, i'm only gernot, one of billions. i know i could make a lot of money with this, but this would mean i have to defraud myself)

oh yes, perhaps this has put some weird "demon" in me (grin), now starts the entertaining part of my post.

aged 4 (according to my mother, i can't remeber this) i was siting myself into this "sarcophagus", while actually historians are not clear if it's a sarcophagus or just a bathtub, so they usually say it's a bathtub. according to the lore it's a sarcophagus.it's placed inside the tomb of "theoderich the great" in ravenna (close to well known rimini beach)

this you would see looking up when lying in the "bathtub"

it's a "late" roman building (6th century) and not as "rich" as other roman buildings, also because theoderich was a ostrogoth king and no roman ceasar. the style is ostrogoth and syrian, but build in roman tradition of large stone quads put together with no mortar.

the most remarkable thing of this building is that the dome is made from one piece of stone and weights about 230tons.a riddle is why they lifted the dome later, it's to see by the large crack in the dome and because it hasn't been positioned proper after.it stands due to that, also in the tradition of megalithic graves (this tradition has kept long by celts, goths and germans) which was sealed usually with a large rock or menhir. the "bathtub" wasn't always in the upper floor, katholics moved it to a monastery (they robbed everything of value they found) and it was placed later back in the building. for completeness, theoderich was a christ, but a so called arianic (has nothing to do with aryan) the didn't believed in trinity (arius said there is only one god, "verbum" and the son is a creation) which was typic for the goths. arianism was already banned by the catholic church in the time of constantine (1st council of nicaea), but has kept practiced by most goths. later they pursued all other christian movements and it was vanished (remember storyline of "the name of the rose").

"and now for something complete different"

remarkable here is, this guy created all with blender, no LDraw or Lego software used.
