To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

GhostBusters: Afterlife

Name threw me off a bit, but thankfully it has nothing to do with the terrible reboot from a couple of years ago. It's going to be a sequel to the original films, but apart from that not much else is known about it.

The way Dan Aykroyd is talking he is pretty sure most if not all of the original cast will be in this one, minus Remis since he passed away about 2-3yrs ago now. But even the trailer was done nice to set the feel for the original films. So I look forward to this one and please please don't mess it up give the fans what we want and not another 2016.

Will have to look that up about what Aykroyd has been saying, did see that the surviving cast would be returning as ghost to help a group of teens.

And I hope that they are not going down that road as it's sounds like a repice for an epic fail.

“Ghostbusters” franchise co-creator Dan Aykroyd has confirmed that Bill Murray will indeed be reprising his famed role of Dr. Peter Venkman for the upcoming third “Ghostbusters” film which recently wrapped shooting.

In an interview with The Greg Hill Show, Aykroyd confirmed the news. Murray was the last of the main trio of surviving ‘Ghostbusters’ yet to confirm their return with both Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson previously confirming their returns.

Actresses Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts also confirmed the reprisals of their roles. Of the remaining two regulars, Rick Moranis has mostly retired from the industry while the film will potentially address the absence of the late Harold Ramis.

The got the gang back together, its just a shame that Harold Ramis won't be there so I hope they handle that in good way. I think this could work if they use the original cast as teachers to new Ghostbusters and could be very funny if done right. And with visual effects being what they are today it could look great too.... could we see a Slimer appearance 🙂

Looks like it will be called Ghostbusters Afterlife, even though we might think its #3 cause that movie in 2016 should have the Ghostbusters name away 😉

I'm some what sceptical about this, especial the bit about them helping teens, but I hope I might be wrong.

The latest trailer is still a bit cryptic as to how they integrate the original actors, but I like how they are handling Egon's passing and how they discover the history... but this trailer alone is better than that last movie... least this has promise 😉 If you watch Stranger Things on Netflix you will recognize the main character.

Trailer looks good but I still have doubts about adding teens into the mix, Think I read some where the original cast are back as ghost in this one.

@pinback agreed, I think this version would appeal to me more if they were young adults maybe showing traits of the original cast..... I do like the whole 30-40yrs later and everyone has forgotten about the ghostbusters... If they mess this one up the ghostbusters franchise will be toast I think.

Hope this bucks the trend of remakes but still have reservation's over having a bunch of teens in it.
