To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Just watched this trailer to the new Superman movie and I am actually excited to see this, it looks like they are making this movie the right way.

Agreed it looks a lot better than the last one, also it looks like they are basing it on the best of the old superman films "superman 2".

I've just been mind-raped. I swear, out of 143 minutes of its length, at least 142 of them contain something either imploding, exploding or disintegrating into your face, accompanied by bassy resonating bangs, all of which is made exponentially worse if you're watching in 3D.
I thought the headache Star Trek: Into Darkness gave me was bad, but this is on a completely different level. Gotta watch a non-combat Babylon 5 episode to calm down before I can go to bed to be able to fall asleep. I only go to see shallow CGI cashgrab films like these because of friends but I seriously can't take s*** like this any more.

Yup, it was good. Tons of action scenes and special effects. The ending seemed a bit rushed to me, compared to the rest of the movie but either way, I liked it.  Still, I liked Star Trek more :p

Just watched this on DVD, hell of lot better then the last reboot they tried a couple years ago, can't go wrong with general Zod in it.

I should be getting this movie sometime this week on Netflix and cannot wait. It seems from the previews that they do it justice so we'll see. Do you think they can keep this series up with what you saw?

Hard to say, I am not familiar with the comics as the only other superman villain I know is Lex Luther.

Although one of the biggest problems with the past superman films is bumbling Clark Kent reporter being played for comic effect, don't know if they took that from the comic or if it was just made up for the films, as you will see from the new film they have neatly side stepped this issue.
