To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Here is a new scifi action movie that involves a prison in earths orbit. Guy Pearce looks like he is perfect for this role.

That looks good

It does remind of two things.

1 Escape from New York

2 “Harry 20” a story from 2000AD.

Just watched this, it goes by the name of Lockout here and it's an excellent scfi action film.

Guy Pearce is brilliant as the film anti hero (Snow) and the rest of the cast all put in good performances.

For some reason they got it pegged as Die Hard in space but it more Escape from new york almost a complete copy of it just set in space.

Yes, I would say Escape from New York too and Guy Pearce did an excellent job playing his character and would love to see this character again. The effects were good and story wasn't too cheesy. All around a good film to watch on the weekend. And yes it goes by Lockout here in the USA, I think they went with the catchy one word title to attract more attention.

I stopped watching the film when pearce offered the last rescue pod to the presidents daughter... she didn't take it, if I remember correctly.

Could have been a nice action movie without that love stuff.

On a side note, I discovered Defying Gravity today, watched the first 3 episodes, googled for it and found out that it was cancelled after the first season... <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//sorry.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sorry:' />

I look past the love stories they stick in almost every action movie it seems, they feel like if they don't have it that a female will never watch it which is crap. I know plenty of women that prefer a kick-ass action movie with no love story. The movie houses will get it eventually when people stop paying to go see certain movies, most times I wait for it to come on Blu-Ray anyway. But True, you missed out. After that scene the movie is pretty good.

I will give it another try then. Maybe the English version. At least I can then profit from Pearce's original voice. <img src="' http://spacesimcentral.com/forum/public/style_emoticons//nyam.gi f"' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':nyam:' />
