To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Well I finally got to sit down and watch this... um I think the reviewers and fans were right on this one. I was let down here, yeah there was some good moments of course. But the movie was just meh at best for me. Maybe it was because the actor they picked to play solo didn't really connect with me.

I think Disney needs to stay away from origin stories especially when we are talking about iconic characters in the series. People have so much expectations for origin stories because your making a dedicated movie about a beloved character so they should have taken more time with this one personally.

Han Solo was a average movie. I personally enjoyed Rogue One and was hoping this standalone movie was going to be on the same level as Rogue One but it wasn't. It isn't a bad movie, its just average in my opinion. Its worth a watch if you are a star wars fan in general, but i would just rent it.

I think it was far better, than "Last Jedi". And "Rogue One" was the best of the newer movies!!

I enjoyed it and I thought it was a pretty good spin off film, the ending was a bit weird with Darth Mauls return from the dead. Although I gather from what has been said this maybe a reference to the next film, which maybe about obi-wan.

But as D1 said making a film about such iconic characters is always going divide people down the middle, but a least is was not as bad the truly terrible reboot of Ghostbuster.

Agreed Captain Kal. Han Solo movie was better that The Last Jedi, and I would probably prefer standalone movies like Han Solo and Rogue One over them continuing the Star Wars series because I actually have no desire to see the last movie in the theater. I would like to see a Obi-wan movie.

I would just like to tell Disney to take more time with these origin stories because these are for the fans, so we are a bit more critical of them 🙂 By no means did Han Solo suck, they could have made it better that is for sure. Yeah seeing Darth Maul at the end kinda threw me a little, and i would have to look up in the timeline if he was supposed to be there at that time? But there was some definite remember-able characters in it, chewie was great.

Haha Pinback, the Ghostbusters remake was awful truly stepping all over the original series. I was very surprised some of the original cast even wanted to make an appearance.

How did Maul end up in Solo, I think Solo takes place 10 years before Star Wars, so the Phantom Menace must take place about 10 years before Solo as Anakin was about 10 in Phantom and about 18/20 years old in Clones. And maybe only a couple of years older in Revenge of the Sith, this is where Luke is born, who about 20 years old in Star Wars.

What was question again??????? 🙂
