To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

In this day and age you need to keep up or be left behind and by the person that cannot play online because your rig freezes up. To stay current you usually upgrade old components or you just build another. Generally I have a rotational system that goes on in the house every three years a new system is built and the hand-me-downs begin. Oh and that new PC goes to me of course 🙂
I upgrade my machine mainly. I usually put something new in it once a year and do only major upgrades like the motherboard when I cannot upgrade any further. I generally by my motherboards with some expandability in them so I can make it last 4-6yrs if necessary. And with dual and quad cores out there and the software really not taking advantage of them your machine can last longer now.
