To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

So the game goes like this:
There is the earth at the center of the screen and your ship can only move around it.
Your purpose is to defend earth by shooting incoming projectiles. If the projectiles scored a hit on the planet, it would loose a chunk.
There were also AI ships that I think tried to shoot your ship directly instead of earth.
The Graphics were full 3D and in the menu there was a battle going on between AI ships. I think this game recieved a sequel that went full 3D space combat.
And so, his ship is left powerless, drifting in the empty void of space. His desperate attempts to call someone in the commlink with what little power was left, were futile. No response. The closest colony was 255 lightyears away and the most likely help he would recieve at this part of space was from pirates or slavers. He knows it, but he is not sure if that fate is worse than dying out of suffocation or extreme cold. At this point even captured by pirates is a better fate than being trapped in a metal coffin, slowly dying a painfull death.
Heh, I don't think you're being ignored dude, just no-one knows what game that is! 😀
It rings vague bells with me, but not enough to have any ideas - sorry!

Yeah, its funny, I stumbled on games from my past randomly while browsing the internet, but nope. Some games remain elusive.
Ok, I got some games that resemble the game I am looking for. One is called Galactic protector the concept is the same. The other one is called clash'n slash which is a flash game on miniclip. This one is way more different since you can freely rotate the ship on its own axis while in the others where you look at depends on what part of the earth are you.
More info on the game now, when you died you kept seeing the earth getting hit by bombs until there was nothing left.
BTW I forgot to mention, it was for PC.
