To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Interview with the CEO of the Goon fleet on Rock Paper Shotgun.
Apparently this is the largest player corporation in Eve.

Never played Eve probably never will, but I do enjoy reading about the shenanigans that goes on in it.
I remember fighting with these guys in null sec some years ago when I was still playing EVE. It was fun as I was using a PVE ship to draw people into attacking me thinking I was some guy on his way to a mission spot, but my ship was fitted for PVP so ... surprise 😀 Destroyed a lot of players with that trick. I actually tried to get back to EVE just recently but I can't remember exactly the name of my character, or password or even the email I used, so I let it go cause I don't feel like starting a new account from scratch.
Anyway, point is EVE is a great game but most of the time is so boring that you feel suicidal, so I'm not sure what makes it great, but it is .... least from what I remember about it.
I liked reading that article personally and was a great example on how large guilds operate and sometimes the ego's people get 🙂 I would have liked to play EVE myself but since I never got in from the beginning and it was 1-3yrs after the start of the game I didn't think I would have ever made a splash in the game. When i played the 14 day trial I did see myself training skills a lot to do things. If this game ever goes F2P I will definitely make an account but with the out-right scamming going on why bother with that or the griefing?
- you should not worry about scamming, that's only for noobs, just like in RL, be careful what you buy and the amount of ISK you pay for it.
- griefers ... well, this type of guys are in all games and anyway, in EVE you can actually do something about those guys ... you can cause them significant troubles if you, for example, manage to catch them and destroy their best fitted ships. Once you do that, they'll tend to avoid you. Some of the best moments in my EVE days was when my corporation was hunting griefers ... a gang of like 20 of my people after only 1 guy, oh the good old days 😀
- F2P ? Never :p
