To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

This may be kind of off-topic, but I know some of you will think this is fantastic. I do!

It's an indie game involving aliens and colonization, but it's not exactly a "space" game so far as I could tell. Definitely sci-fi. It's also unfinished. Anyway, screens and a video are available at the website.

The Concept:

Conlan's Claim wrote:
“Conlan’s Claim” is a single player management game, or a sim game, in which the player plans and builds a human settlement on an alien planet.

The player is given a certain amount of resources at the beginning, and must make the colony grow and prosper.

However, the player has no direct control of the individual characters. They have a will of their own and will leave the colony if the player mismanages it.

Nice find Digitalus 🙂 The game reminds me a little bit of Foundation (a late miggy game) and a bit of Sid's Alpha Centauri too. Worth watching methinks 😉 Love the cloud effects!

This game looks really good and the graphic style is good as well, hard to believe there is only 2 people making this game.

Good find and I will add this to the next update to the link list.

That looks very simple and classic, yet I'd play it, don't ask me why.

😮 I've been looking for something like this for years now! I'd even been playing the Atart ST's Utopia again to try and scratch that itch but found myself wishing for something more modern....and here it is! Awesome!

Oh don't worry about that. As long as it's Sci-fi I think you'll find most peeps around here will eat it for breakfast!

According to their last post on their forum, they are looking for funding.

Maybe they should try Kickstarter.
