To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

When you enter the game for the first time, you get a chunk of space, where you can do pretty much whatever you want, by following the simple laws of the market, simple laws of physics and simple moral values. The area you get includes a star, three planets, a couple of hundreds of asteroids and an urge to investigate, transport goods and build capital.
Your goal is to transport resources and manufacture products, then sell them to an outer space market. By doing so, you gain money and your growing wealth and prosperity allow you to ignite and support technological progress, which brings you inventions and devices to exploit all available resources and technologies around.
Your star system gets more and more complex and populated. Every time you gain another level, more and more fascinating things and adventures are unlocked, which guarantee: you never get bored in our vacuum!
You know how a table with model trains looks, it has its own charming plastic/wooden feel. Now imagine you are a rich man, you live in an enormous castle with lots of rooms, so many of them that you can dedicate each room to each of your passions: music listening, sports, a shadow theater and all the rest. One of these rooms is dedicated to a solar system model, much like the railways I described above, but dedicated to space: in the middle of this room you have a suspended sun, which in actuality is a lamp. The walls, floor and ceiling are the night sky, with distant galaxies and stars. You also have planets, slowly evolving around the star in an ecliptic. Planets are made of different lovely materials, for example one is made of antique bronze, another one is a marble sphere, with incrustation of continents. Some are made of wood or ivory. Spaceships are suspended too, and you send them from source to destination points using remote controls, much like in toy trains, and an invisible mechanism, hidden high in the ceiling, does the job of timing and moving the spaceships.
