To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Star Shipping Inc. Review
Overview:
This game is similar to Starflight where you get so much fuel to start with and you try to amass as much credits as you can before all your fuel packs run out. After every game that you play you get a ranking and you get some 'chips' as a reward. You can use these chips to rent better ships at the start of the game or you can go to the shop and buy some upgrade items for your ship. Unsure yet if you get to keep your upgrade items that you purchase for later game sessions.
Trading:
The trading is pretty straight forward. You can see the commodities that you can buy/sell on each planet and you make the best choices to earn credits. You will need to decide on whether the trip is worth the profit and should you buy more cargo holds or maybe next time get a quicker ship.
The faster the ship the less fuel you consume while flying to your destination. Occasionally you will get fuel packs as a reward for fighting pirates or space monsters. Some times you will get lucky when battling and other times it will really take its toll.

Pros/Cons:
Pros:
- The game is pretty cheap ranging from .99 to 2.99 in price (multi-platform pc, mac, iphone, itouch, ipad)
- If you like short games you can complete a game in about 10-15mins
- Has some re-playability because of the 'chip' and building these up to rent better ships and purchase equipment
- Graphics are good for the price point and should be nice on a mobile device
Cons:
- Needs the ability to trade credits for chips
- Would like to see a bigger map than just three planets
- Maybe instead of using fuel packs as the game timer let gamers pick how many days they wish to play the game (ie: 30, 60, 90, etc...)
- Would like more than just 3 commodities to trade at a time.
Conclusion:
Star Shipping Inc. is a game that is good for quick satisfying games of 10-20mins in length. There is a lot of potential for this game if Corbomite Games patches in a bit more content for the PC crowd or gives them the ability to mod the game itself. Star Shipping Inc looks to be a good buy on the Ipad for only .99 and definitely worth the price of admission. Personally I think this game could have used just a bit more polish on the trading system and I would have liked to do some interacting in the fighting. There currently is no demo for Star Shipping Inc so you will just have to use screenshots/videos and other gamers comments to decide on whether to get this game.
Make sure you post your thoughts and high scores: (Mine was 35587 on my first try)
Was definitely a good pickup when it was on sale for .99 🙂
Like I stated in the review there is some pros/cons. But you can tell this was made for the mobile market probably first and ported over. Because you would think on the PC version there would be a bit more content. Not to say that mobile games lack content its just mobile games are usually games you can spend a few minutes with and with that Star Shipping Inc is a good game for sessions last 10mins or so. With some modding tools this game could actually be quite good.
