To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Found this game while looking for games like Artemis and damn have I found a gem!
Here's the link:
http://daid.github.io/EmptyEpsilon/
It's a spaceship bridge simulator where you and a group of friends work together to defeat the enemy. This game is heavily inspired by Artemis and the best part, its free!
Here's the information from the front site.
What is it?EmptyEpsilon is a space ship bridge simulator game. It's fully open source, so it can be modified in any way people wish. What does this mean?EmptyEpsilon allows you to play a space ship bridge. Like seen in Star Trek. In order to play, you will need at least four people, but the best experience is with 6. Each person will have their own role; Captain, Helms, Tactical, Relay, Science and engineering. The captain however, does not have a screen, nor can he press any buttons (save for switching the main screen). The captain will need to rely on their trusty crew to follow his/her orders.Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator?Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator was the inspiration for EmptyEpsilon. It's pretty good as a bridge simulator. But we had some issues with it, which we decided to fix. As spaceship artemis isn't open source, our only solution was to start over by ourselves. For example, the "comms" station of Artemis is pretty limited causing that station to be boring for the player. There where also issues with the game desyncing, causing confusion among the players. Also the GameMaster screen pretty much did not what we wanted to see in a GameMaster screen. So, all in all, artemis is a nice game, but we wrote our own due to lack of features.ContactThe best place to talk about bridge simulation and EmptyEpsilon is the The Starship Bridge Simulation Network. We regulary check this and post updates / battle logs of our space adventures.Main developers of EmptyEpsilon go by the names of Daid and NallathEmptyEpsilon is a 100% free game. We made this because we wanted to play the game we envisioned for ourselves. But we are not artists, so we need to buy the 3D models used in this game.Currently we are raising money to buy more frigates modelsPrevious contributionsThanks to generous contribution of Serge Wroclawski we managed to buy: more battleship modelsThanks to contributions of MadKat and Daid we managed to buy: larger 3D station models
Main screen view from a cruiser near a station being attacked by two enemy cruisers.View on the helms officers screen. Controls the movement of the ship.View on the helms weapons screen. Controls the weapons and shields of the ship.View on the engineering screen. Can boost different subsystems and repair systems.View on the science officers screen. Has long range scanners and a large database of informationView on the relay officers screen. Can see friendly ships and what's in the short range radar range of friendly ships. Can call ships and stations for different requests.
I'm honestly surprised that this game isn't well known. It's really easy to set up and play with others. Heck, you can even play by yourself and still have lots of fun due to the ability to set a ship's crew to solo. I highly recommend you guys check it out, there's even an android app that can run the game cross-platform smoothly.
Nice find Commander 789. :good:
As it a free game I will move the thread to the free games forum.
Just thought I should throw this one in here!
A fantastic project, EmptyEpsilon, now playable in MP or even SP (if you can handle jumping stations during attacks ;)).
With lua scrips, one can create scenarios in notime, and graphic presentation is nice!
A bag of missions are already available.
I was surprised not to find anything on this interesting game here (did I miss it?)

Nice find Bromstarzan, I will have to look into this later.
The game has been mentioned before so I merged both threads.
Thanks PINBACK!
Sorry for double posting, I actually could not find any posts about it (using search "Empty Espsilon"/"EmptyEpsilon" in all forums).
Anyway, a reminder is always good 🙂
