To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

I like reading articles like this http://www.independent.co.uk/news/scien ... 99537.html
Because it is interesting to read how our existence is possibly by chance of all the right things happening and the smallest change in our fragile existence and it could be all gone. More than likely Earth will be a lifeless rock by the time the sun burns out and the human race has been around a few thousand years and in the grand scheme of things that is just a milli-second of time compared to hundreds of millions/billions of years.
I know the article was mainly about things impacting earth or the sun. But what isn't talked about is some huge impacting the moon and the Earth possibly not having a moon any more. Here is something interesting to read http://www.astrosociety.org/education/p ... 33/33.html
