To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

They must have been smoking some of the best pot around to see such insane ideas as sensible and sane.

Well, excuse my language, but that's fucked up, no matter how you look at it.

I'd expect this of the likes of EA, not of some hardware manufacturer. What I read there this is done for advertising features, or gathering information similar to facebook (or as they call it in my local region: Fressenbuch, in english Mugbook).

But I see no real reason to use DRM on such a product besides that.

Do note that the EULA also allows them to claim any work as theirs which you make on your computer with photoshop or similar while having that mouse connected.

I guess they are going to take a hit in their profits this coming quarter when they see sales drop-off because of stupid stuff like this.

It seems by that article that the issue is when you install the mouse software, who installs that any way? Its usually not needed and is bloatware, I have yet to buy a Razor of any type just because I really don't see the value. And after reading that I can see why.
