To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Greetings, I too am a fellow pilot veteran from the old WC days whom served aboard the Tiger Claw. Even though I really enjoyed WC, when a new title named WC: Privateer was released, it was ranked as a "must have" in my own personal standings.
I was immediataly hooked upon purchase and install.
I didn't get to know 'Elite' until after my military tour and then it was via First Encounters CD version. Despite the few bugs, I really enjoyed it. Despite that a few people don't like the vids in it, I did because, well, namely I like the accent. Were I live locally, I've lived since I was 10 and I absolutely hate the accent here and I refuse to adopt it as my own. Oh, to hear voices without the infernal local accent, it was almost like music.
There I've pretty much aged myself but despite how many times I've orbited the local star, I am young at heart.
Safe Travels and Many Profits to you!
May the Stars always shine Bright and may you never get lost in a cloud of space dust!

Welcome to SSC
I'm still hoping the Roberts brothers will get back into making games again, especially WC games. But here is something you should give a try to indie-and-open-source-gaming-projects-f46/privateer-gemini-gold-t29.html
