To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hey there,
I am Karmalis and I am now a proud member of SpaceSimCentral.
How did I find the forums and the portal? Well, I googled "Sci Fi gaming forums" and found this. And to my surprise - it includes more than games, discussions but developers as well. Hence the forums seem to be what I would like to be a part of.
A bit about myself:
* I am a 27 year old software developer contractor living in Manchester, United Kingdom.
* I am a lover of the harder sci fi genre. As the world hasn't seen a lot of good Sci Fi media coming out, I've spent a lot of time reading different books. Out of which my current favorite - "The Lost Fleet" and "The Lost Fleet: Beyond the Frontier".
* I adore games with deep gameplay and give way for graphics if the gameplay is deep and good. Various simulators give most with this feature, though I would never look at those strange simulators that German company develops (driving, forklift, agriculture simulators and such).
* I love learning and dwelling deep into different subjects. 19th century philosophy, history, mathematics, physics, any fundamental or humanitarian sciences work really well.
That is about right, hope to know you all and have some good discussions. Let the mind open and the words shine.
Cheers.
Hi Karmalis and welcome!
<sobs> My Oolite wings have disappeared from my sig - and I cannot re-link it from Photobucket, for some reason.
Welcome to the forums Karmalis.
Rainy Manchester and once was home to Ocean software IIRC.
Hey mate, welcome to our corner of the universe.
Glad you finally picked up our low frequency signal out in deep space and you decided to check it out Karmalis.
There is a lot of good people and quite a few developers and artists that visit the forums and have sub-forums here. Enjoy the stay and c'ya in the forums.
Many thanks for the warm welcome. I'm still trying to explore the surroundings, but loving what I'm finding. Cheers all!
