To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hey everyone!
I thought I'd introduce myself! I guess my first real encounter with space games was with Freespace 2 quite some years ago (still love that game). I really enjoy astronomy, and prefer my games to be heavier on the simulation side than on the combat side (that said FS2 will always have a special place in my heart).
Currently I'm mostly playing Ascent: The Space Game, as well as X3: Terran Conflict, while sometimes dabbling in Distant Worlds and Galactic Civilization II.
Only just found out about this site. Hoping to get introduced to a lot of obscure games I've never heard about 🙂
Cheers!
Welcome to SSC Waervyn
There is a quite a few new and obscure titles discussed in the forums. You definitely picked a good game to introduce yourself to these games and there is quite a few mods and standalone games built off the FS2 engine (FSO), with Diaspora and Wing Commander Saga being the most recent creations and free 🙂
See you in the forums.
Welcome, Waervyn. I dig the avatar 🙂
