To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Freelancer Rocks

Thank You MGS & Digital Anvil

Thank You SWAT Portal & the Crossfire 2.0 Team

Thank You Spacesimcentral for helping us find it all

Freelancer was released in 2003 by Microsoft Game Studios and Digital Anvil  it had a very slow release and did not sell as expected.  But as the months and years went buy

many players found out that Freelancer was one of the best Personal Computer Space Simulators ever made.  Many people still play it today including me.  Quit simply

Freelancer has taken S in RTS and changed it to Simulator.  The ship hud, and flying controls are so simple  that you can just relax and enjoy the game play.

Mining, Trading and Missions are very enjoyable in the vast universe and there are many things to discover on your adventures.  After you have played the storyline there

are mods available for download that expand the game or add to the game.  www.moddb.com  www.the-starport.net www.swat-portal.com  buy game at www.amazon.com

Welcome to the SSC FLdude67, grab a Sidewinder Fang at the bar and pull up a chair. This place is home to many space sim fans, people who escaped the hum drum of mindless mobile games and generic FPS shooters.

I am hoping that Star Citizen will be able to claim the mantle away from Freelancer but we will see. If any game deserves a remake that one does, would be amazing in that Star Citizen engine 😉

Welcome to the station and enjoy yourself.

Like that pic Geraldine!

Thanks Guys I'm glad to have a place to talk all things sci -fi and space related.  And yes lets hope and pray that Star Citizen

is the game we have all been waiting for.

Elite Dangerous is so close to being that perfect pc space game but there's a few things missing ,  But that don't mean they

won't show up later.  There team has been great at giving meaningful updates that have made the monster galaxy grow

and take shape.

It's great to see so many space sims popping up here and there and I bet there will be a few more before things slow down.

It's just too bad that today's space sims all forget two of the things that made Freelancer great...

Being playable offline and including a third person chase cam.

SSC was here during the slow down leading up to this space gaming surge and we will be here when it all calms down again. We ain't going anywhere, thats a promise 😉
