To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hi pilots! I followed this fantastic site for years but i decided to sign up only now because of little time.
Anyway i love sci-fi and space opera (i'm writing also a space opera!) and in a few words space is everything for me!
I played the X series but i'm looking also for other titles...i hope space sim kind of games will grow up just like in the golden age of wing commander...you know what i mean!
I'm from italy so forgive my bad english i'll try my best.
Welcome to SSC, amigo!
Oh yeah! "Amigo" is far more spanish but it is used a lot also in italy because very similar to "amico" and it is simpatetic.
Welcome to the forum NatanSharp.
I would say that we are already in a new golden age of space sims.
There is a reborn of space sims but in my opinion we are far from the golden age. There are a lot of new projects but generally they are poor, poor design, poor graphics, exept for X series.
Always wondered why people wait so long to sign up and start chatting, glad you decided to dock and mingle with SSC's inhabitants. More people hear looking for these new indie games and mods the better for us because we won't miss much. It's nice too see space games coming back to life and really being a big factor in gaming and the surge of tv/movies as well.
Welcome NatanSharp.
Welcome!
Welcome aboard the SSC NatanSharp, the last best hope for all things space sim :girlcrazy:
Geraldine...your avatar...how much memories!
The Amiga 500 is the love of my life, i was 10 years old when my father bought it to me. I played wing commander on it and also Starglider 2...do you remember it? It was a very interesting space sim.
