To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Greetings Earthlings!

Why on earth have I not heard about this wonderful site until today??

Gee, maybe because I've been working 16 hours a day and I'm recently

RETIRED!!!   :girlcrazy:

That's right people,

I have tons of free time now and spending every waking minute playing GAMES!!!

(I may need an intervention soon, it's getting pretty bad)

Happy to be aboard!

:pogranichnik:

Welcome to our corner of the universe mate 🙂

You'll see that in time your passion of playing games might slowly turn into a long passion of modding and eventually creating new ones 🙂

how funny you say that, do I sense a fellow addict? hmmm?

my first addi..uh, game was Farming Simulator.

Yeah, snail paced, but I'm a gamer n00b so I started out slow.

I started modding about a week into the game when I stumbled on a mod site for it.

Don't get me wrong, i've always loved games, toys wutever, but it's only recently I can do it just so damn long!!

I don't wanna date myself here, but I still own my original PONG and Atari 2600.

(kudos if you know what PONG is without googlin' it. lol)

Thanks for the warm welcome!

You'd be surprised at what kind of "old systems" some people around here still own and play, now that's cool !

I loved Asteroids! My local pub had the table-top variety - many happy hours spent in there!

Pinback - have you tried the 3D Asteroids Game OXP in Oolite?

Yep, I think it was two players... and enough room on the glass top for the beers. Asteroids3D OXP takes you, from any station, instantly out to deep space in your ship, and puts you in amongst a swarm of asteroids which do the traditional thing. Shoot 'em up, then shoot the boulders, fragments etc. An occasional Thargoid warship makes an appearance as the alien ship. Three levels of difficulty too - try it.
