To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hi all
Don't really have much interesting to tell, just a dreamer who would like to one day gather the patience to become an indie game developer, as with many I have my 'dream' space sim I'd love to make a reality. For now though its great to see whats being made, feels very much like a space sim renaissance lately.
Welcome to SSC, Incognito.
Welcome to the forum Incognito.
Lot of hard work being an indie developer and they can spend years making just one game.
I need more time just to play games, nevermind make one 🙂 But GL in making one and you will always have a place to gather feedback on anything you do put together. Welcome to SSC.
Cheers guys, yeah I know its not easy ... just one of those itches I've always had.
and start small. limit the scope of the first project to the most narrow and focused design possible and see how fun/interesting you can make it.
and dont even try to make the code design extensible for the future... it's a huge waste of time for a 1.0 project since a year later you'll just want to start from scratch anyway.

Spooky, thats what I had planned.
For now I think I'll try for what amounts to "Thing that flies in space"
