To all SSC Station occupants
Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.
Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hello everyone, I've just joined the forum and I'm enjoying it already! I'm really into space and sci-fi games. However I was wondering if I could have some recommendations on a game as I haven't really placed a space sim properly before. I am looking for a sort of free roam game with maybe some combat. Are there any out there that is popular? I've seen star citizen and it looks AMAZING 😛

No worries about the multiple post, it seems to be a site problem and not you computer.
Elite Dangerous is the other big one but it's the same as Star Citizen it wont be out until next year.
If you are looking for one out already then their are a number of them Starpoint gemini, Evohron, Galaxy on fire 2 and the x series.
You also might want to look at the free games like pioneer, FFED3D OR 3030 Death war.

Welcome to the SSC. There are many great space sims out there Fronk and some have been mentioned already. I would add Evochron Mercenary and Oolite to that. Both of these are well worth a go. :girlsmile:
