To all SSC Station occupants

Thank you for the donations over the past year (2024), it is much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how to migrate the forums to another community software (probably phpbb) but in the meantime I have updated the forum software to the latest version. SSC has been around a while so their is some very long time members here still using the site, thanks for making SSC home and sorry I haven't been as vocal as I should be in the forums I will try to improve my posting frequency.

Thank you again to all of the members that do take the time to donate a little, it helps keep this station functioning on the outer reaches of space.

Hello everyone!

Robske reporting in! I'm known on the internet under these nicknames: Robske, Dirtbag007 (ModDB and Youtube) and Irana Alar (on EVE).

I've been playing space games since I learned to use a computer. Starting with games like stars!, Space Empires II, Gwell and others. I love strategy games where I have to think, and which have deep strategy and a lot of freedom. Since 2004, I've been actively working on space games. Starting with modifications for games like Space Empires IV and Haegemonia (Vector Prime, found on modDB).

I'm currently working on 2 games at the same time: Star Apocalypse and Past, Present & Beyond. The first is here in the games list, and is in a very early stage of development. We've got a basic game engine laid out, and that's all. Past, Present & Beyond is another project, which is about civilizations in general. Starting in ancient times, and going deep into the future. Think of an improved version of a mix of Civilization and Emperor of the Fading Suns. It will also include some unique things like removing the entire 'cities' concept usually used in games like Civilization. Teching will also use a very different system than you're used to.

On the very long term, I'm working on a MMO game which will shake all foundations of MMO games. But that's still in an embryonic stage in terms of concept.

In real life, I'm a very active Pirate Party member, with a big likelyhood of being put on the list of the Pirate Party for the national elections in The Netherlands. Besides that, I have a job, a girlfriend a life next to my life here on the interwebs.

I hope to get into touch with you!

I have been watching this one for a while and seems really ambitious feature wise and cannot wait to see some screenshots of it in action. Are you the only developer?

Nope, rules are generally lax here so have fun.

Hi robske

Welcome to the SSC 🙂

Those were great games and I always preferred Space Empires IV to V, don't know why I just felt it was the better game of the two. I really wish someone would make a Haegemonia II. I want to see what happened after the end of the first game.

Now that sounds truly interesting, hope you will give us updates.

I'm not the only developer, but I've done most of the coding. We've got several other developers on board, but they're largely inactive due to RL stuff. And the game is surely ambitious, and we're taking our time to develop it. If you'd like to know more about it, feel free to contact me.

If you happen to have TSH, there happens to be a file in the modding tools which explains the storyline of what would be Haegemonia 2.

There will surely be updates. It'll likely be completed before Star Apocalypse, as it's far easier to make. If you wish to know more, contact me 😉

Thanks for the warm welcome all!
